Place Value

We have been working hard with place value the past week and a half. We have enjoyed showing how to represent numbers by drawing pictures, working with manipulatives, and solving equations. It seems as though everyone is really starting to understand numbers and how we make numbers a lot better than 8 days ago. Ask your child, "How many tens are there are in 782?" and I bet they can tell you and show you how many.
Alex noticed something cool while they were working in their group. It was a short cut that he saw when figuring out the problems. Ask him to explain how he can figure out these problems in like 3 seconds.

Do you think that Noah might like to be in pictures?

DJ and Joseph's group thought it would be a great idea to combine their own manipulatives together to try and solve their problem. Great Idea!!!!!

I was just happy to get a smile from K'hari because he said that he doesn't like to smile in pictures.

Aaron sure is "CHEESING" it up for the camera. We had Aaron's older brother Anthony in our class a couple of years ago and he was just as silly. Those two sure are a cool pair of brothers.
